Car #1: Disassembly for Restoration

We've begun the restoration of Car #1 (the one in worse condition). We've decided to add a few simple, but nice touches to the nicer car (#2) and keep that one to drive around while we work on #1... Here we are taking the shell off for sandblasting.

Here's what the shop looked like :)

Unscrewing the frame
Lifting off the front
Preparing the main body to be lifted off.

There she goes!

Doesn't look like much of a car, does it?
We have by now already completely sandblasted everything and already have a coat of protective cover on the main body. I'll hopefully get pictures up soon.

Quick update...

So sorry for not posting.... It's definitely not from having info to post, just having a lack of time!
Last Friday we rolled car #1 out of our car hauler...

and got her working!
We are now working hard on the first car trying to get her road worthy :) We have a big get-together coming up this month as well as several groups of guests, so we'd like to get her looking nicer and running smoothly so we can take folks for rides! Then we're going to start on this car and completely take her apart and restore her.

I'll get some pictures of car #2 and post them soon.

She's Working!!

We got the car working yesterday! She blew a lot of smoke from the oil in the motor, but after leaving her running for about 30 min. it all worked out of her system. Dad took us all for several rides in the field and down our road :). We also successfully put the titles in our name and got a tag for this one, so we are now "legal"!

Car #2

Here's a few more pictures of Car #2 (we're working on a name for her :)

Our Cars!

Sunday Dad and I drove up to Ohio to pick-up two 1929 Model A Two-door Sedan cars from my Great Uncle Atlee. He purchased car #2 in 1968 and Car #1 in 1994.

{loading her up}

Car #2:

This is the car is the car we decided to bring home. The idea is we will get this one working and then we will take the other car apart and completely restore it. That way when we get the other car in mess on the ground and we start wondering where the end is, we'll be able to take a little drive in this one to "revive" ourselves :) Our Grandma will be bringing the other car down this fall.
